Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th of August 1956 in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only child of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father was a teacher while her mother was a housewife. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. At a young stage of life, McCormick enjoyed singing as well as dance. She would also perform puppet shows for kids in the community. At the age of six, McCormick young, she took home her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency called to ask her if she'd be interested in entering the show business. McCormick was offered her first gig as a major actress in 1964. She starred in a commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she appeared in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial which was later adapted for the show Wind It up and It's Broken by The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen out of a crowd of over 1200 children who auditioned for the role of the oldest of three towheaded daughters on the brand new TV sitcom The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick's book Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in 2008. The book revealed the fact that McCormick nearly lost her virginity while on stage of the show during its fifth season to Barry Williams. She was just 16 when she was in the scene while he was. It would have happened she said but the timing was never right for us.
